Scaffolding, repurposed clothing, sheets, curtains

Imaginary Friends is an interactive fiber installation that invites the audience to explore the realm of childhood imagination through the tactile and playful medium of soft sculptures made from repurposed clothing. The installation is presented within an industrial scaffolding jungle gym, embellished with sheets and curtains, creating a whimsical and inviting atmosphere that encourages active engagement and play. The contrast between the scaffolding structure and the colorful soft sculptures creates a juxtaposition between the complex structures and challenges of adulthood and the innocence and simplicity of childhood. Imaginary Friends encouraged the audience to actively interact with the sculptures and create their own narratives, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. The immersive and nostalgic experience is a reflection of the importance of play, imagination, and connection to our inner child.
